Life Legacy
Dorothy H. Herzog, 85, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc, died there Saturday morning, March 6, 2010.
Dorothy was born March 28, 1924 in Sheboygan to Jacob and Sophia (Klunck) Meier.
On June 14, 1941 Dorothy was united in marriage to Orville Herzog of Sheboygan. The couple moved to Manitowoc in the 1980’s. Orville preceded her in death.
Dorothy was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, serving the church in several capacities.
Survivors include a daughter, Gale Miller of Howards Grove; two grandchildren, Troy (Shannon) Miller of Elkhart Lake and Melissa (Dan Martin) Miller of Cleveland, WI; 3 great-grandchildren, Kristina, Ava and Jake; a great-great-granddaughter, Isabella; and other family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Norman.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 6:00 P.M. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Richard Miller, Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, will officiate. Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N. 8th St., Sheboygan, on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Dorothy’s family extends their thanks to Rev. Miller and the caregivers at Shady Lane for their kindness and care.
