Obituary

Cara Anne Abumere, age 40, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 8, 2026. She was born in Two Rivers on September 3, 1986, to John and Mary (Rood) Neidermeyer. Cara grew up in the Sheboygan area, and attended Lakeshore Technical College. On June 3, 2016, she married Ernest Abumere in Sheboygan. Together they had two children: Supria and Israel.

Cara was a shooting star in every sense of the word. Her radiant smile, contagious laughter, and spirit of giving touched everyone she met. She was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cara found great joy in cooking for her friends and family, especially her meat pies. She also enjoyed preparing traditional African dishes, particularly Egusi. Cooking was one of the many ways she expressed her love, bringing people together through the comfort of a home-cooked meal.

If you knew Cara, you knew that she always had a hug ready for you. Her loving nature, welcoming spirit, and genuine care for others made everyone feel special. Above all, Cara cherished her family. She delighted in spoiling her loved ones and was a devoted mom to Supria and Israel. One of her favorite traditions was taking them each year to the EAA AirVenture, creating memories they will carry in their hearts forever.

Cara also treasured carefree summer days spent at her family’s cabin up north in Land O’ Lakes, where laughter, togetherness, and time on the lake created precious moments and memories that will remain in the hearts of all who shared those beautiful days with her.

Though Cara’s time on this earth was far too short, the love she gave, the joy she shared, and the memories she created will live on forever. Her beautiful spirit, generous heart, and loving embrace will never be forgotten.

Cara is survived by her husband Ernest Abumere and her children Supria Niedermeyer and Israel Abumere; her parents John and Mary (Rood) Neidermeyer; and her siblings Betsy (Samuel) Reynolds and Mike (Mary) Niedermeyer. She is further survived by her grandma Betty Rood.

Cara is preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Faye Neidermeyer, and Jack Rood.

A memorial service honoring Cara’s life will take place at Arise Church, 1807 Erie Ave, Sheboygan, on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Joel Arndt officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan immediately following services.
