Doreen P. Meifert, 78, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan.
She was born in Sheboygan on March 1, 1948, to the late Edward and Pauline (Hermann) Martiny. She graduated from North High School. On March 11, 1967, Doreen was united in marriage to Neil Meifert Sr. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2009. In her earlier years, Doreen ran the family business with Neil, Wilson Auto Parts. She retired from Kohler Credit Union in 2013. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Town of Wilson.
Doreen enjoyed her holiday trips to Clam Lake to spend with family and attending Motley Crue concerts with her son, Ryan. There have also been many memories made on various shopping trips with her granddaughters. She will be deeply missed.
Doreen is survived by her sons, Neil (Cheryl) Jr., Kevin (Lisa) and Ryan (Christine); grandchildren, Nicole (Joey) Lukaszewski, Josh Meifert, Samantha Miller and Sierra Meifert; great-grandchildren, Ava, Jax and Beau; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Doreen was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Landen and her siblings, Ruth (Milo), Richard (Marilyn) Sr., Ronald (Coleen) Sr. and Delores (LeRoy).
A Memorial Service for Doreen will take place at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6522 S. Business Dr in Sheboygan, with Rev. Shane Cota officiating. Family will greet visitors on Wednesday at church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Doreen’s name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Coulis and the staff at Aurora Medical Center for the excellent care shown to Doreen.
