Obituary

Jerome "Jerry" Katte, age 99, formerly of Sheboygan, died on Monday, August 31, 2026 at The Waters of Oak Creek where he resided since 2019. Jerry was born December 16, 1926 in Sheboygan to the late Edward and Anna (Drexler) Katte. He attended St. Peter Claver Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1944.

Jerry served his country in the US Navy where he trained as an Electronics Technician.

On June 6, 1953 Jerome and Delores Krauss were united in marriage at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Rectory.

He began his forty-year career as an Accountant at the Sheboygan Clinic (Aurora), retiring in 1989 as Assistant Administrator.

Jerry was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish, the Noon Optimists, where he served as secretary-treasurer for many years as well as president for the Knights of Columbus - Sheboygan. He enjoyed traveling, league bowling, reading, and playing cards.

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Mary Stahl) Katte of South Milwaukee, WI; his daughter, Linda (Lincoln) Charlton of Jupiter, FL; four grandchildren, Melodie, Michael (Rachel), Matthew (Natalie) Katte, Bryce Charlton, and one great-grandchild, Leo Katte.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Delores; granddaughter, Kaitlin Charlton; his brother, Edgar Katte; and his five sisters, Lenore, Margaret, Dorothy, LaVerne and Luetta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Fliss on Tuesday, September 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Garden Terrace Mausoleum.

Jerry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Waters of Oak Creek and the St. Croix Hospice team.

The family suggests that donations in Jerry’s name be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
