Shelly Lyn Brown, age 58, was welcomed into the arms of angels on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born in Sheboygan at St. Nicholas Hospital on June 7, 1968 to the late Kenneth and Delores (Noel) Bonnett. She is a graduate of Oostburg High School.

Shelly met her soul mate, Dave Sonneman, on Christmas Eve in 2012. They did almost everything together. Shelly loved the outdoors, and she and Dave enjoyed their nature walks. Hika Bay and Maywood parks were some of their favorites. They would collect caterpillars, and took care of them until they hatched into beautiful Monarch Butterflies. She taught the kids and grandkids about the butterflies too. Shelly was an excellent cook, and her family remembers her meatloaf and split pea soup as one of their favorites. She liked to bake all kinds of brownies and cakes. She loved her family, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The world could use more people like Shelly.

Shelly is survived by her partner of over 13 years, Dave Sonneman; her children: Jose Florencio, Alicia Florencio, Memphis Cabrera, and Nathaniel Cabrera; her grandchildren Guapa, Jose, Ximena, and Marcy; and her siblings Dawn Burt, Joe Bonnett, Brent (Barb) Bonnett, Gary Bonnett, and Terry Bonnett. She is further survived by many cousins and other relatives and friends.

Shelly is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Shelly’s life will take place at a later date.
