Obituary

Stan Borsecnik

Our dad did NOT want to leave us, but on August 15, 2026, he did – peacefully and surrounded by love.

Dad was kind-hearted, open-minded, and good-humored. He loved Sylvia, his wife of 64 years, who died in 2020; his six kids; his very special friend, Cathy Lucchesi; his Slovenian family (and potica!); World War II documentaries; bacon; Blast soft serve; and zippered pockets.

The proud child of immigrants Louis and Mary Simonic Borsecnik, he lived within a mile of his beloved Lake Michigan for over 92 years in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Our dad was preceded in death by Sylvia, his parents, and his brother, Arthur, and his wife, Lorraine.

He is survived by his children, Barb (Dave), Mary (Mike), Katherine (Gene), Greg (Maura), Jeff

(Julie), and Laura; his grandchildren, Megan (Paul), Adam (Mary), Ella (Kyle), Alex, Lucie, Austin, Aidan (Meaghan), Tess, and Blake; and his great-grandchildren, Maya, Caleb, Jackson, Claire, Ruth, Samuel, Bennett, and Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on September 1, 2026 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center in Sheboygan, followed by a brief service. Burgers and brats to follow.

Our entire family is grateful to Sharon Richardson Hospice for their loving care over the past two years, especially his wonderful nurse, Bre; to the capable and kind team at Embrace Care Management; to family friend Kathleen Steinbruecker; and to Jim Holmes and all Dad’s friends who put up with him (and us kids often at Friday Night Fish Fry), and whom he loved very much.

Our dad would have been so happy to see you at his celebration. If donating is also your thing, we suggest three of his favorite organizations: Livasu Village (www.dementiainnovations.org), Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan (www.freshmealsonwheels.org), or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice (ssrhospicehome.org).
