Virginia Rae Chapman, age 80, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 26, 1945, to the late Ervin and Margaret (Kadela) Hansen. Virginia graduated high school in the town of Argo, Illinois, Class of 1963.

Virginia had a love for color and enjoyed spending time reading. She was especially known for making homemade chocolates during the holidays, which she joyfully shared with family and friends. She also had a generous spirit and gave back to her community by making blankets and hats that she donated to those in need. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the warmth and comfort they provided to Virginia and her family.

Virginia is survived by her children, David Chapman, Paul Chapman, and Melissa Ploeckelman; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Gary Hansen; her sister, Barbara Mersberger; as well as other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Megan Kisvari and her brother Robert Hansen.

Per family wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be private.
