Arthur Hedstrom, 89, Town Mosel, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at home. He was born July 16, 1923 in Sheboygan to the late Elmer and Linda (Russart) Hedstrom. Arthur was raised in Green Bay and attended grade school at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1941. On July 16, 1949 he married the former LaVern Mueller at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Arthur worked at various positions at the Kohler Company for 36 years, retiring in 1986 from Plumbing Research and Development. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He made the first prototype teak fixtures. Arthur was an accomplished carpenter, stone mason and metal worker, building three homes including his current residence. He also restored several vehicles and tractors. His latest was his 1925 Model T. Arthur loved fishing, especially on the Peshtigo River and Papoose Lake, was an avid golfer, enjoyed dancing and playing cards. In addition to his wife, LaVern, he is survived by four children, Randy (Johanna) Hedstrom, Sharon (Jesse, Sr.) Long, Oconto Falls, Rachel (George-Allen) Schneekloth and Steve (Sue) Hedstrom, Cascade; twelve grandchildren, Dr. Heidi (Gary) Bamford, April (Jesse) Maxey, Andrea (Ryan) Woodrich, Andrew Hedstrom, Jesse Long, Jr., Josh (Ruth) Long, Susan (Mike) Brugger, Jason Long, Lisa Schneekloth, Pam Schuricht, Sarah Hedstrom and Stephanie Hedstrom; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn (Al) Janelle and Maggie Parmentier; one brother, Francis "Buddy" (Doris) Hedstrom and one granddaughter-in-law, Pam Schneekloth. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Schneekloth, two brothers, William and Robert Hedstrom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church (2133 N. 22nd Street, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Daniel Lasecki officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ) from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Howards Grove First Responders, Orange Cross and Linda Richter.
