March 8, 1946 ~ September 17, 2021 (age 75)

Obituary

Edward W. Voigt, 75, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.  He was born March 8, 1946, in Sheboygan to the late Edward August William and Anna (Billmann) Voigt.  Ed graduated from North High School with the Class of 1964.

On May 22, 1982, he was united in marriage to Nancy Wiemann.  Together they loved to take spontaneous 1 day road trips.  They would say “we can go North, South, or West, but we can’t go East, or we will drown”.  Ed worked for Sheboygan Paint Company for 34 years and retired in 2001 due to health issues.  He also bartended at several local taverns.

Ed was Nancy’s “miracle man” in 1996 he had a heart transplant, and then in 2001 he received a second transplant.  His new heart gave them 20 years of creating memories with family and friends.

Ed enjoyed playing cards and word searches.  In his younger years he liked to shoot darts and go miniature bowling.  You could find him on many Sundays cheering on the Packers.  He also liked to cheer on the Badgers and Bucks.  His greatest joy was taking trips to Minnesota to visit his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife Nancy, children; Jacqueline (Bob) Angel of Sheboygan, Donald (Kara) Voigt of Northfield, MN, and Jori (Eric) Hinz of Sheboygan, grandchildren; Ben (Jackie) Voigt of Virginia Beach, VA, Katherine, Andrew, Olivia, and Morgan Voigt of Northfield, MN, and Marlee and Mason Hinz of Sheboygan, great-grandson Theodore Voigt of Virginia Beach, VA, sister Janet Woods of Sheboygan, and brother-in-law Tim (Michelle) Wiemann of Cleveland.  He preceded in death by his parents, In-laws Donald and Celine Wiemann, sisters, Barbara (Donald) Bauer and Karen (Bob) Schulz, and brother-in-law Tom Woods.

A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan.
