John J. "The Eggman" Lemkuil Visitation & Funeral Service Location: Zimmer's Westview John J. "The Eggman" Lemkuil John Jerome Lemkuil, (The Eggman) 79, of the Town of Sheboygan passed away on Friday morning, December 28, 2012 after a short stay at Sunny Ridge. John was born on December 9, 1933 in Sheboygan, to the late Harold and Marion (Arnoldi) Lemkuil. John attended Washington Grade School in Sheboygan, Starlight Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. He graduated from UW Madison Farm Short course in 1953 and was a member of the Plymouth National Guard. He married Eileen Korff in 1960. On July 18, 1980 Karen Walber Krueger and John were united in marriage. John was self-employed as a farmer, raising chickens and selling eggs throughout Sheboygan and other counties to various businesses. He became known as "The Eggman". He worked for Kohler Company from 1978-1999. He was a member of First United Lutheran Church, having been a Sunday school teacher for many years. John loved and played many sports. He was active in Kohler shop league, Howards Grove Athletic Club, Blusts Porkies-Sheboygan Falls softball league, and the Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls Old-timers' Club. John was involved in many activities, some of which included 4H, FFA, Farm Bureau, Rotary West, and most recently a member of the Sheboygan Falls Lions. John was an avid Yankee fan. He also loved the Green Bay Packers, being a Packer ticket season holder since 1957. He rarely missed a Packer game and loved to tailgate, cooking those special Miesfeld's Packer steaks. John enjoyed his many years of auditing classes at UW Sheboygan and taking numerous trips that they offered-having gone to Italy, Spain, and many countries with the group. Some of his greatest pleasures were listening and dancing to polka music. He loved to play cards- skat, poker, and sheepshead. He also went every morning to McDonald's West for coffee with his friends and he enjoyed Wednesday Happy Hour at Brennan's. His survivors include his wife Karen; 4 children, Deborah Faircrest of Fairfield IA, John (Patti) of Port Washington, Jennie Preder (Fiancé Aaron Binns) of New Port Richey, FL, and Loretta Lemkuil of Sheboygan; step children, Terri (Tim) Lillesand of Sheboygan and Dan Krueger of Sheboygan Falls; Grandchildren, Cecilia Faircrest, Jack and Kate Lemkuil, Angel Martinez, Paige Preder; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Damon Hyatt. Step grandchildren, Aaron Krueger and Hannah and Rachel Lillesand. Two sisters: Nancy Lemkuil of Sheboygan and Jean Crosby of Lannon. Also special family: Peter and Lisa Brickner and children, Matthew, Erica and Nicholas of Howards Grove. John is also survived by nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 11:30 am, at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center. Friends may call on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date. The family would prefer memorials be given to Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, Sheboygan Falls High School Athletic Association, or the charity of the donor's choice. John is now playing cards with Bill, Chuck, Vernon, and Dave. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 1st floor staff at Sunny Ridge, Dr. Wenberg and his staff and Dr. Kumar and his staff for all their care and kindness to John.
