Louis Mallmann

February 12, 1941 — January 20, 2021

Louis Lincoln Mallmann, 79, was rejoined with his wife, Judie, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 20, 2021, following a short illness due to a stroke. Lou was born on February 12,1941 to the late Alex and Anne Mallmann in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Following his high school graduation, Lou enlisted in the United States Navy. After his service, Lou received his associate’s degree and training to be a stenographer. Lou thoroughly enjoyed the years that he spent being a court reporter, working both in Wisconsin and Arizona, finishing his career with the Sheboygan County Courts and privately for his own business, Mallmann and Bastyr Court Reporters, retiring in 2004.

Lou was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Judie Vi Schmidt, on April 28,1962. They enjoyed their 45 years together, especially going out for Friday night fish, playing tennis together and cutting up the dance floor at weddings and other celebrations.

Lou’s greatest joys in life included the time he spent with his beloved wife and family. He loved being Dad to his two children and was a well loved Grandpa and a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Lou is survived by his two sons; Steven (Cindy) Mallmann and Michael (Susan) Mallmann; his grandchildren, Hailey Mall- mann, Kaylyn (Michael) Penza, Taylor Dehn, Jolee and Isaiah Mallmann; great grandchildren, Navia, Selah, Eliza and Kenna Penza; two brothers, James (Roberta) Mallmann and identical twin brother, Richard (Sandy) Mallmann, sister-in-law Elda Schmidt; Nieces and Nephews, and close friends, Jim Kempfer and Fay Boeldt.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Judie in 2006.

We will remember Lou for his outgoing personality, and competitive spirit. He loved to have a good time, and win at whatever he was doing, whether playing cards or placing friendly wagers on just about anything. Lou continued to stay active playing golf, bowling, and pickle ball. He was a friend to everyone he knew. Lou enjoyed mental challenges, word puzzles and never missed completing his daily crosswords. He also was at one time a “World Champion” of online battleship, which he was very proud of.

The family would like to thank the 5th Floor ICU Hospital Staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for their kind and compassionate care for Lou.

It was Lou’s request to not have a funeral. Anyone wishing to send a sympathy card to the family, please mail the card to Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, 1201 North 8th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Memorials will be given in his name to the Elk’s Lodge #299 of Sheboygan for future ENF scholarship awards.
