Sharon Zwitter

Sharon Mary Zwitter, 79, died peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Sheboygan Senior Community.

Sharon was born on December 31, 1941, in Milwaukee. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Gabriel) Wholihan. She grew up in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Sharon attended St. Robert Catholic School and graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1959. She also attended St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, to attain her teaching certificate.

Sharon was united in marriage on December 29, 1962 to the late Michael A. Zwitter at St. Robert Catholic Parish in Milwaukee. They began their lives together in Whitefish Bay, where they both taught. Sharon taught at Puis in Milwaukee and St. Eugene’s in Fox Point. They moved to Sheboygan in 1970 when Mike began his administrative career in the Sheboygan School District, while Sharon was a dedicated mother. She also dedicated many years to the Gibson Girls, as well as Pranges/Younkers in the china department.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Patrick) Casey (nee Zwitter) and their children, Makenzie and Graham; and her son, Kevin (Shannon) Zwitter and their children, Hannah and Ashton.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Zwitter; brother, Stephen (Marcia) Wholihan and their son, Michael; and her sister, Kathleen Piper (nee Wholihan).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family is having a private Catholic service and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish to view Sharon’s service, you will be able to livestream the service on Sharon’s obituary page at www.ballhornchapels.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Clement Catholic Church, the Sheboygan Senior Community (www.scc.org), St. Nicholas Hospice (hhs.org.sns.donate), and the Dementia Society of America (https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate).
