Joann M. Loewen, 88, of Sheboygan, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.  She was born February 27, 1934, in Sheboygan to the late Emil and Marie (Allen)Miller.  Joann graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1952.

On March 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harry Loewen, he preceded her in death in 2007.

Joann worked at Prange Way for 25 years, then went on to work for the foster grandparent’s program at The Early Learning Center for 16 years retiring in 2014. Having a strong faith, she was a former member of Fountain Park Church. Joann was a proud blood donor for the Red Cross. Joann had a passion for recording family history, scrapbooking and photography. She cherished all the special memories she created with her family and loved to memorialize those special events through her scrapbooking and keeping different memorabilia from the day. Joann was a talented artist specializing in drawing. She especially enjoyed her 88th birthday party at Rocky Knoll with her family and friends.

Joann is survived by her stepdaughter Diane Prellwitz; sister Lorraine Roerdink; her grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchild, she is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry; son Rickie Loewen; stepson Scott Loewen; her infant brother Charles Allen Miller and her beloved dogs.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 1 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Rev. Beth Petzke officiating.  Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 11 AM until the time of service. If you are unable to join the family, Joann’s service will be live streamed on her obituary page, on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sheboygan Humane Society.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center ER personnel, Rocky Knoll Health Care staff and the Golden Girls for making her stay there so much fun. To my sister Lorraine Roerdink for helping me stay in my home for the past 10 years, to my niece Lorry (Daniel) Konrad for all their help and care the past 8 months, and to Todd Prellwitz for helping maintain my home during the different seasons.
