Alma Junker

January 18, 1925 — December 1, 2020

On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Alma Martha Junker (Holzwart), loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 95. Alma was born January 18, 1925, in Sheboygan to Henry & Lena Holzwart. She graduated from Central High School in 1943 and went on to work at Prange's for several years. She met Bob Junker on a blind date and they married in November of 1949. They raised two children together, Daniel and Robalee. Alma was devoted to many things in her life, but none more than her faith. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church. Throughout most of her life, Alma was involved in Bible study groups with friends, participated in the Christian Women's luncheon, and sang in her church choir. She delighted in every opportunity to share her love of faith with those around her. She was an equally devoted sister and daughter. Her family was truly the center of her life. Growing up, she most enjoyed visits to Lake Michigan where she would spend time swimming with her siblings and being in the outdoors. Alma and Bob, who most enjoyed being home in Sheboygan, still made time to travel and would frequently visit their daughter Robalee in Pennsylvania, and her brother, Emil, in Florida. Alma loved to bake for her family and church, sew clothing for her children and herself, and garden at their home on 7th Street-- where they lived for over 50 years. She will be missed by her family and friends, and those who shared her love these last few years at Countryside Manor and Morningside Health Center.

Alma was preceded in her death by her parents Henry and Caroline; her sisters Emma and Hilma; and brothers Emil and Walter. She is survived by her husband Bob (Morningside Health Center), her son, Daniel (Sheboygan), her daughter, Robalee (Russell) Bruesewitz (Pittsburgh), daughter-in-law Janet, her grandchildren Carrie, Allyson, Ian (Sheboygan), Erin, Margo, and Hannah (Pittsburgh), and also her seven great-grandchildren.

A private prayer service will be held for the immediate family. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Alma's Life will be held at a later date in 2021.

A memorial fund has been established in Alma's name.
