Anthony Udovich

June 25, 1921 — January 10, 2013

Anthony Joseph Udovich, formerly of 1606 North 22nd St and a resident of Golden Living Center-Sheboygan (the "resort" as he called it) for the past 4 1/2 years passed away peacefully on January 10, 2013 with his family by his side. Born in Sheboygan on June 25, 1921 to John and Theresa (Renucha) Udovich, He attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1940. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1941 until 1946, serving as a Motor Machinist Mate, 1st class aboard the USS Richey. Tony married the former Virginia Kachelmeier on April 19, 1947 at Holy Name Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on October 19, 1998. He was employed at the Vollrath Company in the polishing department until he left to join Ornamental Plastics (OPI) Company which was started by his father-in-law, John Kachelmeier. He served the company as Secretary/treasurer until his retirement in 1985. He thoroughly enjoyed going out to his Crystal Lake home and spending summers there. He was always joking around and loved all his little gadgets. He also enjoyed doing picture puzzles especially ones that had all the same shaped pieces. He was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church, the Men's Society of the Church, VFW and the KSKJ. He is survived by 4 children: Jane (Donald) Lydolph of Sheboygan, Therese Campbell of Oostburg, SueAnn (Larry) Patz of Hingham and Patrick (Ronda) Udovich of Sheboygan. Also surviving him are six granddaughters, Amy (David Meyer) Lydolph, Wendy (Jason) Kossman, Martha (Tarrant) Csida, Teiva (Chris Knospe) Campbell, Mandy Patz and Kendra Udovich and seven great-grandsons, Jeremy Lee, Maxwell and Deegan Kossman, Daenen and Finnegan Knospe, Sylas and Dextyr Csida. He is also survived by Brothers Frank and Albin (Ione) Udovich and sisters-in law Celine (John) Mudge and Sylvia Kachelmeier. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Virginia; son-in-law Mickey Campbell, Granddaughter Reba Udovich and great-grandson Ryker Csida, brothers and sisters-in law John and Mary Udovich, Joseph (Chuvy) and Theresa Udovich, Ione Udovich and brother-in-law Ted Kachelmeier, and infant sister Theresa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Tony on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Reverend Philip D.Reifenberg, pastor, as celebrant. Military Honors and Committal rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on the family at St. Dominic on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. A memorial fund has been established in Tony's name for St. Dominic Catholic Church. Tony's family wishes to thank all the staff of Golden Living Center "the Resort" in Sheboygan for the loving care and attention Tony received as a resident.
