Carl Weinberger

Carl Paul Weinberger, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday evening, February 19, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton due to complication of pancreatitis. He was 68 years old.
Carl was born July 7, 1949 in Sheboygan, the son of Fredrick and Rosetta (nee Mauer) Weinberger. He attended school in Oostburg, and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1967. He attended UW Sheboygan and later the Music Conservatory in Milwaukee.
On March 21, 1987, he was united in marriage with Ellen Osborn in Sheboygan.
From an early age, Carl fell in love with music and that love continued through his entire life. His passion for music spread across all genres and decades. An icon, pioneer and local legend, Carl touched countless lives through his soulful and inspirational music. He shared a wealth of information and inspired young musicians as a guitar instructor for over 40 years. He loved performing, and played with bands including The Bent Set, Phobia, Loyal Opposition, Smile, Patriot Band, Bluebird, Split Second, Two Way Zoo, Loosends, Pop Music, Buffalo Joe, Spare Time, WCMB Rock Radio, as well as solo performances as Carl Paul. His gift of music will live on in those he inspired.
In his spare time, Carl enjoyed watching movies, staying up to date on politics and current affairs, and sharing his love of music with family and friends. One of his most recent passions was his daily facebook posts that entertained and educated. His posts included stories of his musical adventures, artists and their works, and anything else that was on his mind.
Carl is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ellen and his three children: Cory Weinberger of Sheboygan, Elizabeth Weinberger (Eric Durst) of Fort Atkinson and Matt Weinberger (Isobel Sharpe) of Sheboygan. He is further survived by grandchildren Clinton and Walter Durst, siblings: Kathi Weinberger of Sheboygan, Mark "Sid" Weinberger (Suzanne Daniels) of Lemoore, CA and Paula (Todd) Owen of Howards Grove; sisters-in-law Janet (Pat) Miller and Marion (Rick) Helf, both of Sheboygan, brothers-in-law Robert and Mark Osborn, both of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Weinberger and brother-in-law Timothy Osborn.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan. There will be a time of gathering from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
