Cornelius "Con" Gabrielse

February 5, 1935 — February 2, 2023

Sheboygan

Cornelius “Con” Gabrielse, 87, of Sheboygan, was called to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 2, 2023.  He was born February 5, 1935 in Sheboygan to Leonard and Cora (DeGeus) Gabrielse. Con graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School.

On April 18, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Den Boer at First Christian Reformed Church.  They were blessed with four children: Pamela (Scott) Otten, Peggy (Michael) Biesboer, Amy (John) Harmelink and Todd (Jodi) Gabrielse.

Con grew up on a farm, and was happiest his whole life when he was busy outdoors.  He loved to garden, and he provided much food for many people. Con worked in the shipping department of the Kohler Company for more than 40 years. He was a long-time member of 1st Christian Reformed Church (Christ Community Church), and Bethany Reformed Church. Con served as a speaker for nursing home and jail worship services, and was responsible for the evangelism tract rack.

Con’s legacy is his deep faith in God, and his love and faithful care for his family. He passed on to all his children a strong honest work ethic, which was evident in all his endeavors. He longed to go home to his Lord and Savior, and the Lord granted his request. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his children, Con is survived by his grandchildren; Nathan (Lynae) Otten, Jacob (Alyssa) Otten, Benjamin Otten, Elise Biesboer, Christopher Biesboer, Brendan (Kimberly) Biesboer, Gregory Biesboer, Kyle (Kristen) Batkiewicz, Kendra (Joe) Neuville, Vanessa (David) Hobbs, and Alyssa (Alexander) Mueller, two step-grandchildren; Jennifer (Nate) Bichler and Joshua (Andrea) Harmelink, twelve great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and his brother David (Helen) Gabrielse, sister Carol (Harlan) Roerdink, and brother-in-law Jacob (Connie) Den Boer. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Elizabeth (John) Kremm, infant John Gabrielse, John (LaVerne) Gabrielse, William (Loretta) Gabrielse, Margaret Gabrielse, Cornelia (Gerald) Van Der Puy, Leonard Jr. (Barbara) Gabrielse, Katherine (Anthony) VanderVrede, infant Johanna Gabrielse, Peter (Judith) Gabrielse, and sister-in-law Koreda (David) Hoerz.
