Dawn Annette Rakow

Dawn Annette Rakow, age 97, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 8, 2024, at Pine Haven Christian Communities. 

She was born on July 30, 1926 in Wausau to the late Walter and Florence (Strohm) Lochman.  She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School.

On September 28, 1946, Dawn was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” J. Rakow of Sheboygan at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Rakow was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for many years. She had a strong relationship with Christ, and was committed in her faith. 

Dawn is survived by five children, Dennis (Sandy) Rakow of Plover, Linda Van Ess, Roxanne Janisse, Jeff (Rose) Rakow, and Lisa (Dennis) Bolle all of Sheboygan, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Dawn is preceded in death by son-in-laws Gary Van Ess and Mark Janisse, grandson Toby Van Ess, brother Gerald (Mickie) Lochman, sisters Elaine Albee and Betty Stoelb, and brother-in-law Robert Rakow.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon Richardson Community Hospice for their care and compassion.

A private urn burial will take place at a future date.
