Derron J. Applekamp

Derron J. Applekamp, 42, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Froedtert Hospital after a motorcycle accident last month. He was born on May 21, 1983 to Kenneth and Terri (Guptill) Applekamp in Superior, WI.

Derron brought joy, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him. From the time he was five, he spent hours fishing, finding peace and happiness by the water. He had a gift for fixing anything—whether it was a motorcycle or a household repair—but even more remarkable was his willingness to help anyone in need.

Family was the center of Derron’s world. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother; and cherished uncle. He treasured every moment spent with his children, nieces, and nephews, creating memories full of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. His love for motorcycles gave him a sense of freedom and joy, but his true passion was always for the people he cared about most.

Derron is survived by his wife, Lonna Applekamp; six children, Taylor, Daymon, Lily, Draven, Brantlee, and Zara Applekamp; parents, Kenneth Jr. and Terri Applekamp; sister, Miki (Matt) Schultz; brother, Josh Applekamp; grandfather, Ken Applekamp Sr.; in-laws, Kevin and Pam Thiel; four nieces, Amber, Sam, Jenavieve and Mya; two nephews, Carson and Callyn; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and best friend, Jimmy.

A Funeral Service for Derron will take place on what would have been his 43rd birthday, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N 8th St., Sheboygan, WI. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
