Donald Grunewald

Donald M. Grunewald, age 74, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away early Sunday morning May 19, 2013 at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born April 4, 1939 in Sheboygan, the oldest son of Milton and Dorothy (Specht) Grunewald. Don was a 1957 graduate of Howards Grove High School. He served his country in the US Army from July 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964. Donald started working at the Vollrath Company in 1959 and was employed there for over 42 years, retiring in 2001. In his early retirement, he enjoyed working at Packers games for the America's Pack. Donald is survived by a son, Daniel (Joy ) Grunewald of Glenbeulah and a daughter, Denise (Luke) Mugan of the town of Mitchell; seven grandchildren, Emily and Raechel Grunewald, Adam Konz (Fiancé Stephanie) and Elizabeth, Jenna, Levi and Joseph Mugan. He is further survived by his brothers; Dennis Grunewald of Ada, Lee (Joan) Grunewald of Sheboygan, Randy Grunewald (special friend Sue) of Howards Grove, Timothy Grunewald of Sheboygan, sisters; Margene (LeRoy) Fink of Franklin, Kathryn (Leo) Waldschmidt of Howards Grove, JoAnn (Robert) Lutzke of Elkhart Lake, Delores (Keith) Liebstein of Plymouth, Jane Rentmeester (special friend, Tom Laughrin) of Hilbert, Cindy Schmidt (special friend Peter Schalk) of Ada, and Bonnie (Jim) Fintlemann of Franklin, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was also preceded in death by two infant brothers, Eugene and Dale, and brothers Jerome and Gary Grunewald, and a sister, LaVerne Berg. A memorial service will be held for Donald on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at 12 Noon at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center with the Reverend Tom Fleischmann, officiating. Interment of Donald's urn will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Howards Grove. Friends may call at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Donald M. Grunewald.
