Edward "Ed the Barber" C. Thiessen

September 13, 1944 — October 1, 2022

Sheboygan Falls

Ed the Barber “Edward Thiessen” passed away at his home on Saturday, October 1, 2022, surrounded by his wife Sharon and sons Chuck and Paul after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 78.  Eddie was born September 13, 1944, in Illinois.  He graduated from Maryville Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois.  Eddie married the love of his life Sharon Sippel on November 21, 1964, in Glenbeulah.  Eddie and Sharon became the proud parents of two sons, Chuck and Paul.

Eddie opened his “Barber Shop” in 1971 in Sheboygan Falls.  A few years later, Eddie designed and had his new “Barber Shop” built on Monroe Street in Sheboygan Falls.  He barbered for 41 years and made lots of special friends.  Eddie retired from barbering in 2008.  He was very proud of being a barber and loved his customers.

After his retirement, Eddie and Sharon enjoyed getting away for weekend trips.  They are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.  Eddie loved singing, especially his favorite hymns.  He also loved golfing and breakfast out with his breakfast buddies.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 57 years; his sons, Chuck (Becky), and Paul (Julie); his grandchildren, Alexander (Marissa), Claire (fiancé Branden), Cassie, Brooklynn, and Maddie and other friends and family.  He loved his sons and grandchildren dearly.

The family would like to thank Sharon Richardson Community Hospice and special thanks to Jennifer, Teri, Rachel, and Ann.  They are all special angels and meant so much to all of us.

A private family service will be held.  Memorials are appreciated for Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Eddie’s name.
