Edward Geiger

Edward Joseph Geiger passed away at Aurora Medical Center - Grafton, Saturday, October 26, 2013. Age 83. He was born on December 31, 1929 in Brillion, WI to his late parents Edward Sr. and Mary (Fischer) Geiger. He graduated from Brillion High School in 1947. Edward married Darlene Dohr on August 19, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brillion. He served in the US Army in the territory of Alaska from 1951-1953, then completed an additional three years in the Army Reserves. Ed retired in 1992 after working at the Kohler Company for 41 years and was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Prior to working at Kohler he was a licensed cheese maker at the Bamford Cheese Company in Plymouth, WI. Edward and Darlene are longtime members of St. Dominic's Catholic Church. Edward is survived by beloved wife; Darlene, two sons; Lee (Kathleen) Geiger, Shanghai, China and Mark Geiger, Minneapolis, MN two daughters; Sue (Steven) Ross, Findlay, OH and Carol (Tyler) Ellrodt, Seattle, WA, granddaughters; Jennifer Geiger, Boston, MA and Linden (Patrick) Gallagher, Everson, PA, one sister; Margaret (the late Bruce) Vaughn, Sheboygan Falls, WI, sister-in-law; Yvonne (Walter) Schnur, Sheboygan Falls, WI, Cheri (Joseph) Weiss, La Crescent, MN and Judy (the late Del) Dohr, Sheboygan, WI. Preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Edmund and Ethel Dohr, one brother; Ralph Geiger, sisters; Dorothy (Joseph) Gleniecki and twin sister Madalene (Edward) Penkala, brother-in-law; Jim Dohr. Ed was a graduate of the school of integrity, majoring in honesty and hard work. He lived a life of honor. One of his joys in life was gathering with friends and family while having a steak, a manhattan, and great conversation. His infectious smile and subtle sense of humor will be missed. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 4, at 2:00 PM with Fr. Philip Reifenberg at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. (Hwy 42 & JJ). Committal to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Gathering at the Funeral Home on Monday from 12 Noon until time of service.
