Elizabeth Schlafke

June 30, 1941 — July 11, 2013

Elizabeth "Betty" Schlafke, 72, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at S. Richardson Community Hospice. Betty was born June 30, 1941 to the late Frank and Mayme (Schmutzer) Smazal. She graduated Auburndale High School in 1959. Betty retired from Wal-mart after 19 years. When not on bus trips with friends, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and family. Betty is survived by five sons; Scott (Vicki), Rick (Heather), Lonny (Jessica), Todd (Megan), Robby (Kimberly) Schlafke, five grandchildren; Tiffany Schlafke, Kristin Schlafke, Makenzie Schlafke, Wyatt Schlafke, Waylon Schlafke, one great-grandson Oliver Scott Brill, siblings; Gertie Sazama, Vernon Smazal, Franny (Albert) Schill, Marie (Hank) Eron, Volly (Gary) Hendrickson, Lila (Darryl) Stewart, Lori (Dick) Raab, Bev Rawling, Frank (Edie) Smazal, brother-in-law; Roy Hartl. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty is preceded in death by brother; Marvin Smazal, sister-in-law Irene Smazal, brother James Smazal, sister Vivian Smazal, sister Helen Hartl, brother-in-law Joe Sazama, nephew Russell Schill, and brother-in-law, Jess Rawling, A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (W2132 Garton Road, Sheboygan) with Deacon Mike Burch presiding. Visitation at the Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. A special thanks to the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and S. Richardson Community Hospice for their care and support.
