Evelyn worked various jobs at the National Tinsel Factory, Mirro Aluminum, Mayline, and Kohler Co.  She was also a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the St. Anne's Christian Mothers Society.  Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking, plants, puzzles, and was a fantastic gardener.   Family gatherings were never complete without her potato salad and delicious tortes.

In addition to her husband Darwin, Evelyn was preceded in death by all of her siblings; sisters: Agnes (George) Neuser, Marcella (Francis) Rauens, Lillian (Ted) Bushman, twin sister Clara (Thomas) Rauens, Elsie (Elder) Zimmerman, brothers: Emil (Nona) Opichka, Darvin (Betty) Opichka, Ray (Lorraine) Opichka, and Louis Opichka.  She was also preceded in death by her brother in laws and sister in law Daniel, Dennis, Duwaine, and Leon Post and Delores (Herbert) Hess.

A Funeral Mass for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 818 Huron Avenue, Sheboygan.  The family will greet visitors at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass.   Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

A memorial fund will be established in Evelyn's name for Pine Haven Christian Community and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.   We take comfort in knowing that she was loved and adored by many.

God saw that you were getting tired;

And a cure was not to be,

So he put His arm around you,

And whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer; And saw you fade away, Although we loved you deeply, We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hardworking hands at rest,

God broke our hearts

To prove to us,

He only takes the best.
