Faye E. Gehrig

March 19, 1938 — February 6, 2024

Sheboygan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Faye Elizabeth Gehrig, born on March 19, 1938. Faye left this world on February 6, 2024, surrounded by the love and memories of her cherished family. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Bernie Gehrig, who preceded her in death in 2009.

Faye and Bernie shared a remarkable journey together, having been best friends and lifelong companions. Together, they raised a beautiful family of five children: Cheri Coenen (Mike), Pam Coffaro (Cliff), Kim Schulte (Greg), Kevin Gehrig (Lindsley) and Tammy Kaczorowski (Kevin).

Faye's legacy extends to the next generation, as she adored her grandchildren: the late Ben Coenen, Brianna Pennell (Kyle), Morgan Schulte (Zach), Elizabeth Coffaro, Andrew Coffaro, Jacob Kaczorowski and Sammy Kaczorowski. She was also blessed with the joy of spending time with her great-grandchild, Case Pennell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie, her parents, LeRoy and Ellenora (Sass) Horneck, her sister Joan Eldridge (Bob), her brother Ken Horneck (Betty) and her grandson Ben Coenen.

Bernie and Faye were active members of Holy Name Catholic Church and raised their family in the catholic faith.

Faye enjoyed nearly twenty-five years at Kohler Credit Union, working as a Member Service Representative. While there, she made many lifelong friends.

Faye's excitement for life was evident in her love for family traditions and gatherings. She enjoyed camping adventures and traveling with her friends and family. Her playful spirit extended to the thrill of a gamble. She found delight in trying her luck in Las Vegas, at Oneida Casino, on her phone or tablet, or wherever she could find a slot machine. Watching “The Price Is Right” and "The Wheel” were part of her daily routine.

Faye will be remembered for her remarkable determination, strength, and honesty. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the countless memories she leaves behind. She has left an eternal mark on the hearts of those who were privileged to spend time with her. Her spirit will live on in the stories and moments shared by family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Faye will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 818 Huron Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following mass.
