Frederick Stone

December 18, 1944 — May 4, 2018

Frederick L. Stone, age 73, a resident of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2018. Fred was passionate about his faith, family, community, sports, and nature. Born in Oshkosh, WI on December 18, 1944, to Frederick M. and B. Lucille Stone, Fred attended Green Bay West High School. As a young man his love of the outdoors and Boy Scouts was validated when he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

On December 17, 1966, Fred married Jacolyn L. Cartier at Zion United Methodist Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

A proud Badger, Fred graduated with BA and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After graduation he worked in banking for several years before moving on to a career in construction and real estate.

In his free time Fred loved volunteering for organizations close to his heart. He was a member of the Sheboygan Falls Conservation Club. He served on the Advisory Board for The Salvation Army Sheboygan. Fred was also a member of the Sheboygan Early Bird Rotary Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, a competitive game of cards, cheering for WI sports teams, and playing water volleyball at the YMCA.

Fred's devotion to God and country was an important part of his life. He belonged to the Masonic Temple. Fred enjoyed the company of the South 12th Street Bible Study Group and was an active member at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Fred lived his life with enthusiasm, always leading with his kind heart and generous spirit.

In addition to his wife, Jackie, he is survived by three daughters, Danielle (Ken) Baird of Davidsonville, MD, Jessica (Rob) Grusin of Chicago, IL and Meghan Stone of Sheboygan, WI. He was proud of his ten grandchildren, Gavin, Trevor, Mason, and Spencer Baird, Alexander, Andrea, Miles and Oliver Grusin, Allison Stone, and Cartier Gunesch. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Clark) Lindo of Oshkosh, WI. In addition, Fred is survived by his mother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and other treasured relatives.

Fred was preceded in death by his son, Frederick N. Stone, and by his father-in-law, step-mother and parents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11 AM at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 623 Ontario Ave. Sheboygan, with Pastor Roger Clapp officiating.
