Gary Freis

November 19, 1944 — May 1, 2018

Gary Lee Freis, 73, of Sheboygan, went home to his heavenly father on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, at Morningside Health Center after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer.
He was born on November 19th, 1944 in Sheboygan, son of the late Lowell and Edythe (Sieling) Freis.
Gary attended Kiel schools and graduated from Kiel High School. His working life was spent at Freis Von Kiel in food service. His devoted time was spent mentoring inmates at KMCI. He spent years refrigerating food at the annual Kiel picnic and Road America for the Kiel Jaycees.
He is survived by his former first wife, Kathleen (Bender) Freis; their children, Bradley (Michelle) Freis and Angela (Jay Knier) Freis and 2 grandchildren.
He is also survived by his former second wife, Lora (Grunewald) Stover; their children, Monique Freis, Joshua Freis, Brianna (Joe Martinez) Freis, Maria (Andy Christian) Freis, Isaiah (Alyssa) Freis, Micah (Abby) Freis, Clarissa Freis (fiancé Joshua Norton); a step-son Brett (Kristine) Loebel as well as 9 grandchildren.
Gary is also survived by three brothers, Randal, Ted, and Dean Freis; two sisters, Cheryl Bornemann and Heidi (Robert Jr.) Werdeo; sister-in-law Cathy Baer; 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
A private celebration will take place with family and close friends at a later date.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Sheboygan Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for their support and dedication. We would also like to thank Nicole and Mark at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center for their compassion towards our family at the very end.
A memorial fund has been established in Gary's name.
