Gary L. Wilkens

Gary L. Wilkens, age 76, of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2025 at home. He was born on March 5, 1949 to the late Thomas and Elaine (Reichwaldt) Wilkens. Gary graduated from Kiel High School with the Class of 1967.

Gary proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked at the Kohler Company in pottery for many years and was involved in the UAW Local 833 union. Gary was a proud member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Gary loved his family; his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed traveling, tending to his garden, watching sports and constantly finding something to do.

Gary is survived by his wife Diane Wilkens; children, Nicole (Nels) Higgins, Jason (Jolene) Wilkens, Patrick (Debbie) Verhelst, Peggy (James) Fischer; grandchildren, Elliott Higgins, Emily (fiancé Emery Byus) Higgins, Autumn Wilkens, Carson Wilkens, Kinley Wilkens, Bennet Wilkens, Hannah (Aaron) Cappilla, Gabrielle Fischer, Gaven Verhelst, Hailey Verhelst; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Cappilla and Sophia Cappilla; and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Elaine Wilkens.
