George Hanson

June 14, 1936 — September 12, 2017

George Corwin (Corky) Hanson went to be with his Lord on September 12, 2017, at Sheboygan Health Services where George had been a resident for the last two years.
George was born on June 14, 1936, to Ernest and Dorothy Fleener Hanson in Kansas City, Kansas. George attended Grant Elementary and North High School graduating with the class of 1955. George then attended Ripon College on a golfing scholarship, later transferring to University of Wisconsin - Madison. He married Jane Bichler on August 10, 1957, at St. Clements Parish in Sheboygan. George worked for Donohue Engineering before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he continued in the architecture/engineering field. George returned to Sheboygan after many years with McDonald's Corporation as a regional manager in their Real Estate and Site Development Departments in three of their largest regions: Dallas, San Francisco and Miami which included the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. Upon returning to Sheboygan, George joined The Stubenrach Associates until his retirement in 1996. George enjoyed consulting, and designing residential homes throughout his adult life. Those designs are a lasting tribute to his talents and can be found in each state where he resided throughout his career. His other interests included golfing at some of the great courses around the country, California being his favorite, with Pebble Beach as the highlight. George enjoyed reading any book about the history of architecture, geography and cultures of foreign lands and all things aeronautical. His intelligence and wit will be dearly missed.
George is survived by his wife Jane; his four children, Kay (Richard) Cavnar of Dallas, TX, Kevin Hanson of Dallas, TX, Kathleen (Douglas) Jenkins of Cincinnati, OH, and Kyle (Jennifer) Hanson of Sussex, WI; nine grandchildren, Alexander, Elise, Elaine, Nicholas Hanson, Allison and Marren Jenkins and Jonathan, Jayden and Amber Hanson. He is further survived by his brother-in-law James Bichler along with numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Dorothy Hanson, his brothers Kenneth (Mary) Hanson and David (Frieda) Hanson, and his grand-daughter Lillie Hanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Grace Episcopal Church, 1011 N. 7th St in Sheboygan on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00am. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, George would like any donations to be given to Grace Episcopal Church for the benefit of the Rectors Discretionary Fund.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Sheboygan Health Services for the kindness and compassion he received.
