Gerald Thomas Dailey, 94, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30th, 2026. He was a resident of Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.
Gerald was born on September 13th, 1931, in Ladysmith, WI, to parents Frank and Selma (Sandquist) Dailey. He was the youngest of 11 siblings. Gerald graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1950. On August 25th, 1950, he married Phyllis (Decky) LaBerge. Gerald was a teacher in Ladysmith before moving to Sheboygan in 1971. He taught physics at Sheboygan South High School until he retired in 1986.
Gerald was avid carpenter and spent many summers roofing houses and doing various remodeling jobs. He was also co-owner of The Deep Six fishing charter boat. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Sheboygan. He also enjoyed taking trips to Oneida Casino and gardening in his vegetable and flower gardens every summer.
Gerald is survived by his son, William (Susan) Dailey of Port Orchard, WA, and his daughter, Amy (Bill) Bates of Blaine, MN; 7 grandchildren: Jeff (Danelle) Bates, Sarah Bates, Christopher Dailey, Carrie (Tom) Peterson, Aaron Dailey, and Kyja Dailey; 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Decky, his parents, one daughter, Karen (Larry) Brown, and all of his siblings.
A funeral service will take place at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St., Sheboygan on Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Entombment will take place immediately afterwards at Greenlawn Cemetery in Kohler, WI.
