Germaine C. (Demge) Fox passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 100 at the Sheboygan Senior Community. She was born on June 13, 1921, in Oostburg, a daughter of the late Theodore and Jeanette (Allare) Demge. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School and Sheboygan Business College. Germaine worked for several businesses before being employed as the bookkeeper at Sheboygan South High School from which she retired in 1986.
Germaine was a faithful member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for 70+ years. She belonged to Rachel Circle, Altar Guild, and United Methodist Women, and assisted with the food pantry and church suppers. She was the Wedding Hostess at St. Luke’s for 42 years and sang in the church choir for 52 years. She regularly visited residents at Sheboygan Senior Community and other assisted living facilities throughout Sheboygan. Germaine volunteered many years with St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary.
Germaine loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering, camping, Sheboygan Symphony, and walking along the shores of Lake Michigan.
Germaine was preceded in death by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Ione (Frank) Udovich, Jane (Robert) Mohar, and Laverne Rehraurer. She is survived by her children Dr. Patricia Fox of Kohler, Peggy Duehring of Whitefish Bay, Pamela Fox (Dr. Kenneth Downing) who reside in WI, Paul Fox (Sue Hansen) of Sheboygan, and stepson Vern Fox, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL.
Germaine enjoyed her role as Grandmother to Michael (Kara) Duehring of Sussex, WI; James (Delney Bystrom) Walker of Palo Alto, CA; Daniel (Annalisa Alberti) Fox Walker of Bainebridge Island, WA; Chad Fox (Costa Mesa, CA), Dustin Fox (Manitowoc), and Grandpups Sam and Bailey; and as Great-Grandmother to Jacob, Matthew, and Kaitlyn Duehring; Chapin and Aidy Walker; Lincoln Alberti Fox-Walker; and many nieces and nephews.
Germaine’s family offers heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sheboygan Senior Community that provided compassionate care, support and loving kindness to Germaine. The family also extends its deep appreciation to the special team from St. Nicholas Hospice that provided comfort and end of life care from St. Nicholas Hospice.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of Germaine’s life at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N. 8 Street, Sheboygan at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 15. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME. According to her wishes, her ashes will be buried in the scattering garden at the Sheboygan Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke United Methodist Church or the Sheboygan Senior Community where she resided since 2007.
