Gloria M. Blandin, age 89, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, peacefully with her family by her side at Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan. She was born on December 26, 1936, to the late Francis and Lorraine (Krause) Lemerond. Gloria was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School.
Gloria was united in marriage to Lee Blandin at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. They shared nearly sixty years of marriage before Lee’s passing in 2016. Together, they raised two children. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She was actively involved in her children’s lives, serving as a Girl Scout leader and participating in the PTA.
Gloria worked as a tailor for more than 40 years, beginning her career at Art Imig’s and later working at Kress-Hertel until her retirement. After her retirement, she continued as a seamstress from her home. She was a proud and faithful member of Bethany Reformed Church, she especially enjoyed Coffee Break Bible Study.
An avid sports fan, Gloria loved cheering on the Packers, Badgers, Bucks, and Brewers. She also took great pride in her cooking and baking and was always happy to share advice or helpful tips with others. Her greatest joy came from loving and caring for her family, and spending time together was always important to her—especially moments shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kim (Paul) Planton of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Holly Allo) Planton of Sheboygan, Daniel (Kelly) Planton of Madison, Christopher Planton of Sheboygan Falls, Meredith (Samuel) Spencer of Fox Point, Jacob Planton of Sheboygan Falls, Adham (Kelly) Blandin of Benton Harbor, MI, and Cole Blandin of Milwaukee; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Eliot Planton, and Everleigh Spencer; daughter-in-law, Julie (Verl) Wicker; siblings Frances Luckow, Sandra Kelling and Dennis Lemerond; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Blandin; son, James Blandin; her parents, Francis and Lorraine Lemerond; her sister, Connie (Gary) Tamminga; sister-in-law, Nancy Lemerond; and brothers-in-law, Arthur Luckow and Richard Veldboom; and Al Kelling.
As per Gloria’s wishes, a small private family service will be held. Gloria’s inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to her Embrace caregivers, and many wonderful family members, neighbors and friends who have checked in with her over the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria’s memory can be made directly to the Special Olympics and Humane Society of Sheboygan County. Checks can be written directly to these organizations. The family greatly appreciates your support during this time.
