Gwendolyn Martens

Gwendolyn Carol Martens, age 74 of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2018 at her home.

She was born in Sheboygan on February 29, 1944 to the late Arthur and Frieda (Zeier) Martens. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Sheboygan North High School where she participated in debate and band. After graduation, she attended UW-Oshkosh. Gwen enjoyed traveling, especially going on a religious tour to Israel and Greece with Reggie White. She also liked knitting, attending concerts, pottery and beading.

Gwen was employed at Partners for Community Development as a financial accountant and worked at Kohl's part-time. She was honored to serve as president of the Sheboygan Rotary West Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow.

Gwen is survived by her two sisters, Patricia (Robert) Plotka and Bernadine (Richard) Watson. Nieces, nephews and other family and friends further survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marianne Ingels.

A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Cemetery on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM, with Reverend John Berg officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Avenue, Sheboygan.
