Helen Werner

October 22, 1932 — December 6, 2020

Helen V. Werner, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Helen was born to Jacob and Madeline (Burkard) Leibham on October 22, 1932 in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School.
After high school, Helen worked at Nemschoff Chair Company in Sheboygan until her marriage to John Werner Sr. on January 11, 1958 at St. Dominic's.
As a lifelong Sheboygan resident, Helen and John raised their four boys at the lake house they built in Black River.
Helen volunteered with many local organizations and church groups. In her free time, Helen enjoyed golf, tennis, needle point work, playing bridge, attending the Sheboygan Symphony and other local performances, and traveling extensively with her husband and family.
The brightest point in her life was becoming a grandmother to her five grandchildren. She was very active in their lives, attending birthdays, sporting games, performances, and graduations.
Helen is survived by three sons, Michael Werner of Sheboygan; John (Jodi) Werner Jr., Sheboygan; Tom (Debbie) Werner, Plymouth; five grandchildren, McKenna, Andrea, Madeline, John III, and Gregory; brothers, John (Honey) Leibham, New Holstein; Bill Leibham, Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Werner and Sr. Mary Ellen Werner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr.; son, Mark; her older sister, Dorothy Slamar; and numerous other relatives.
Per Helen's wishes, there will be a small private family service held.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Helen's name.
Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Pine Haven and the visiting nurses from Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion that they showed.
