Hildegard Huesmann

Hildegard Huesmann (nee Frebel) passed away unexpectedly in her home July 17, 2020, at the age of 84.
Hilde was born on May 3, 1936 in Beckum, Westphalia, Germany, the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna Frebel. She immigrated to the United States in 1957 to join Bernhard Huesmann whom had immigrated from Germany shortly before her. They married at Holy Name Catholic church in Sheboygan on April 27, 1957.
Hilde worked at the Platium in Sheboygan. She was a bartender who could light up a room with her captivating personality and incredibly efficient service. Later, the couple owned and operated Bernie and Hilde's Keller Bar on N. 29th St. from 1963 to 1968. It was a true success and was a very popular gathering spot. They then moved to rural Sheboygan Falls, her current address. Hilde waitressed many years at Hoffman's Riverdale Country Club on S. 12th Street. Her work ethic and charisma will be remembered by many.
Hilde was a very devoted and loving wife and mother. She was loved and respected very much by her family, friends and anyone that knew her. She had so many talents. She loved art and all things beautiful. She was an artist herself and her stunning landscape paintings wowed many friends and family. Hilde had a keen eye for design and home decorating was a true passion. Her beautiful and impeccable home certainly reflected it. She loved nature and the outdoors, and transformed her property with her love of trees and landscaping. She was all around a very gifted person. She will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her four children: two sons, Robert Huesmann (Sheboygan) and Mark Huesmann (Holmen), two daughters Susan (Robert) Pate (Sheboygan Falls) and Linda (William) Bodus (Waukesha); grandchildren Tyler and Kyle Pate, Ryan and Trenton Huesmann, Amanda (Jamie) Eisentraut; two great grandchildren; a sister in Kiel, Anneliese (Dieter) Schubert and three sisters and two brothers in Germany. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband.
