James “Jim” Osborne passed away peacefully at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak on October 7, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 15, 1956, Jim lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family.
He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Kathleen (Barton) Osborne, a proud father to Jamie Osborne Buczko, James Osborne II, and Daniel (Taylor) Osborne, and a loving grandfather to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Jim was known for his steady nature, quick wit, and the way he was always there to help anyone in need.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Jim loved spending time outdoors, finding peace in nature, and sharing those moments with family and friends. He cherished the simple joys in life — a good day on the water, a quiet morning in the woods, and laughter around the table.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Osborne and Evelyn June (Burchett) Osborne, and his brother Ronald Osborne. He is survived by his siblings Evelyn Coley, Justin Osborne, and Raymond (Phyllis) Osborne, as well as many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Jim.
Even in passing, Jim continued to give through the gift of organ donation, offering hope and healing to others. An Honor Walk was held at Beaumont Hospital in recognition of this final act of generosity.
A Celebration of Life will be held this spring.
Jim’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
