Jola M. Vanic, age 70, formerly of Sheboygan passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
She was born in Sheboygan on July 23, 1953, to the late Joseph and Margaret (Roberson) La Tour. Jola graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1971. After graduating, Jola enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1972 until 1974. On July 27, 1974, Jola was united in marriage to Ronald Vanic in North Carolina. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2007. She retired from Kohler Company in 2008, after 28 years of service.
Jola enjoyed cross stitching, reading, drinking coffee, watching the Green Bay Packers, playing bingo, shopping, and listening to oldies.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Dan) Launer; a grandson, Kaz Launer; a sister, Dale LuMaye; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Jola was preceded in death by siblings, Mary, Lynn, and Joseph Jr.
A Celebration of Life for Jola will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St. in Sheboygan. Jola will be laid to rest next to Ronald at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jola’s name.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for the excellent care given to Jola.
