Jospehine Yankunas

Mrs. Josephine Yankunas 93 formerly of Cleveland passed away on December 24, 2013 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Josephine was born on 03-28-1920 to the late Joseph and Alberta (Van Dyke) Reinhardt. Josephine went to school and worked in Port Washington WI, where she met Peter Yankunas, Sr. He was the love of her life. They got married at St. Mary's in Port Washington, WI on August 16, 1941. They moved to Cleveland, WI in 1948. Peter and Josephine enjoyed raising their two children Stephen and Peter, Jr. Josephine enjoyed baking bran muffins, preparing holiday meals especially Thanksgiving , knitting blankets, sweater and booties, watching grandchildren playing and sliding around in the basement with their new booties, walking with her grandchildren and her dog, Peppy down the lane, and countless times of fishing and family times at the cabin on Little Bay De Noc, MI. Josephine was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle in Newton, WI. Josephine is survived by her son Peter Jr. and his wife Barbara (Casper); grandchildren, Erin Griesbach, Jessica (Dean) Vogel, Jason (Jessica) Jacoby, Nick (Fiancée -Amanda Phillips) Yankunas and Jayme (Matt) Jurss; great-grandchildren Taylor, A.J., Isaiah, Trinity, Elijah, Peyton, Saryah, Grace, Bradley and Ryan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Celia Reinhardt. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter J., son Stephen J., parents Joseph and Alberta, stepfather Harry Graham, sisters, Dorothy, Jane, Clara, Charlotte, brothers Peter and Joseph (William) and grandson Jacob Jacoby. Services for Josephine will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle (8100 Brunner Rd, Newton WI). Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 pm. Mass will be 12 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Beaudry officiating. Burial will take place at St. George Cemetery, Cleveland Thank you to the staff of Terrace Estate Assisting Living Center, the staff of St. Nicholas Hospital, 5th Floor and the Hospice Center, family and friends for the care, support and love given to Josephine. Memorial Fund has been established in her name.
