Kathleen “Kitty” I. Garrigan

Kathleen “Kitty” I. Garrigan, age 82 of Sheboygan was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully at home on Friday, May 3, 2024. Kitty was born April 10, 1942, to the late Florenz and Clara (Harkness) Garrigan. She attended Central High School and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Human Developmentfrom Silver lake College. On November 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Roger C. Mikalowsky and had three daughters, Donna, Debra and Denise.

Kitty was employed at Sehler’s, Roenitz Pharmacy, Sheboygan School District and retired from Safe Harbor Domestic Abuse Shelter after 20 years of service. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, puzzles and most of all walking daily, weather permitting. Kitty also enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of her home watching the local wildlife, particularly the eagles and listening to the birds.

Kitty celebrated Believer Baptism in 1991 and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. During her 35+ years at BBC, she sang in the choir, was part of the Praise Team leading worship via music and Missions Team, taught Sunday school, headed Communion preparation, helped with annual spring and fall cleaning and supported many local and international ministries. She cherished the fellowship and friendships of her church family.

Kitty is survived by her daughters, Donna (Donald) Schieble, Denise (Robert) Heiligenthal both of Sheboygan, son-in-law Curt Broetzmann of Sheboygan Falls, grandchildren, Adam, Andy, Aaron Schieble all of Sheboygan, Alex Schieble of Glendale, AZ, Kyle (Christjana) Broetzmann of Novi, MI, Brandon Broetzmann (Abbey Schmitt) of Waupun, two great-grandchildren, sisters Marica (Ron) McKendrick of Sheboygan, Carla (Charles) Wendt of Venice, FL, brother Frank (Cynthia) Garrigan of Manassas, VA, brother-in-law Mike Mikalowsky of Evansville, WY, special niece Nikki (Dave) Schneider of Elkhart Lake, other relatives, dear friends and kind neighbors Wally Jacoby, Bonnie, Claudia & Craig. Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debra Broetzmann, former husband Roger Mikalowsky, sister-in-law & brother-in-law Sara Jane (Walter) Wiech and niece Lynette Wiech.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church 2411 Weeden Creek Rd, Sheboygan on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Dan Babbel officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service from 4:00-5:00 PM. A private interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to support the ministries of Bethel Baptist Church.
