Kerry Griessmeyer

July 1, 1948 — September 27, 2018

Kerry Griessmeyer, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 27, 2018.
Kerry was born July 1, 1948 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the son of Leroy and Doroth y Griessmeyer. He is survived by son Ryan Griessmeyer and wife Lauren, and son Clayton Griessmeyer and wife Julia. In addition, Kerry leaves behind four grandchildren, Jace, Frankie, Luella, and Fritz, three brothers, Joel, Ronald, and Roy, and fiancée Cindy Regan. He was preceded in death by his sister Karen Harmelink. Although divorced at the time of his death, he also leaves behind Maureen Griessmeyer to whom he was married for over 30 years.
Kerry spent most of his career as a self-employed business owner of Griessmeyer Concrete alongside his brother Joel. While the Griessmeyer barricades are no longer scattered throughout Sheboygan, you may still notice the family name stamped in sidewalks created by Kerry, family, and fellow employees throughout the city. For the past six years, Kerry worked as a transit driver for Shoreline Metro in Sheboygan
Kerry was a large and strong man with a huge personality and many talents. He passed on many gifts to his family including his love of exercise, work ethic, and lust for life. He was physically tough and would never complain.
While an extremely hard worker, Kerry also made time to relax with loved ones. He would work hard pouring concrete during the day and then get home and drive the kids to the cottage to go swimming and fishing. Many weekends were spent participating with his sons at running races all around Wisconsin or cheering for the boys at YMCA swim meets, and Sheboygan North swim and cross country meets.
Kerry loved the Griessmeyer cottage, vacations in Florida, the Packers, fishing, hunting, cross country skiing, reading, listening to live music, and having a good time. A very proud father and grandpa, he seemed to never tire and would drive all around the state to spend time with his family.
Visitation will take place at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will start at 2p.m. with Pastor DuWayne Hanke officiating.
Kerry was always there if you needed him and will be dearly missed. In lieu of gifts, the family asks donations to be made to the YMCA of Sheboygan .
