Larry Klein

April 14, 1945 — January 26, 2022

Larry M. Klein, age 76, of Cleveland, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Larry was born on April 14, 1945, to William and Norma (Junk) Klein in Cleveland, WI. Larry attended several area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School. On July 31, 1965, Larry was married to Ione Olm at St. Wendel Catholic Church in Cleveland, WI, which is where the couple lived and raised their children.

In 1963, Larry began working as a pipefitter at Kohler Company. He was a proud member of UAW 833. Larry was always working to better educate himself to be better at his job in skilled trades. It was also very important to Larry that he passed on the skills and knowledge that he worked so hard on to his family. He held the position of Chief Steward Skilled Trades for UAW 833 from 1984-1996. He also served on the UAW 833 Executive Board from 1999-2011 and held many other positions over the years. Larry taught the Hunter’s Safety Course for 30 years, providing education for many young hunters in the area. He was also a member of the Cleveland Fish and Game and Trap Shoot.

Larry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved to work on projects in his shop and could fix anything. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harley, gardening, and making his own wine. He loved taking trips to the Wisconsin Dells with his wife, Ione, and enjoyed many trips to Hodag and Wisconsin Dells with his family.  He also traveled on union business conference trips with Ione throughout the United States.  Larry’s favorite pastime was spending time with his loving family and watching his family grow.  He will be deeply missed.

Larry is survived by his children, Jim Lange, Heidi (Gary) Werdeo, and Shawn (Susan) Klein; four grandchildren, Kayle Werdeo, Laken (Chris) Mader, Cody (Sally) Werdeo and Krystel Lange; five great-grandchildren, Xzavier, A.J., Peyton, Gwyneth, and Norah; siblings, Richard (Marie) Klein, JoAnn Pozorski, Jim (Joyce) Klein, William (Patty) Klein, and John (Sherry) Klein; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Clark, Katie Olm, Chad Lesperance, Rosie Klein, Mary Ann Olm; nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ione; parents, William and Norma; brothers, Raymond, Ronald, Robert Klein; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William, Robert, Sandra, Patricia Olm, Barb Klein, and Frank Pozorski.
