Lucille Karstaedt

Lucille Fleck-Karstaedt, age 94, of Sheboygan was welcomed by her Lord on her 94th birthday.
She was born in Oostburg on December 6, 1924 to the late Clarence and Ida (Veldboom) Theune. She attended area schools and graduated from Weedens Station School. On August 23, 1947 she married Joseph Fleck in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1986. Lucille was employed at Derwards Flamingo Supper Club and retired in December 1989. She was a housekeeper and companion for Melvin Karstaedt for several years. They were married on May 27, 2001 and he passed away on July 23, 2001. Lucille was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and polka dancing. Lucille loved playing bingo, gambling at Oneida with her daughter and friends, and helping within her church. In her years at Rocky Knoll she enjoyed the activities that they offered, which included music, church service with Pastor Tom Fleischmann, and crafts. She found great joy in her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lucille is survived by her children, Marie (Jeff) Leibham, Irene (Jim) Meyer both of Elkhart Lake, and James (Linda) Fleck of Sheboygan; daughter-in-law Lois Fleck of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Jodi (Todd) Hibma, Suzie (Ed) Gilligan, Kevin (Melissa) Fleck, Michael (Amy) Leibham, Jerry (Leona) Leibham, Christopher Fleck and Travis (Fiancé Abby) Fleck; great-grandchildren; a great great- granddaughter; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; sisters Jean Hofteizer, Eileen (Wayne) Casteel, and Carol (Andy) Molkenthine; brother Lyle (Kaye) Theune. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends further survive.
Along with her husbands, Lucille was preceded in death by her son Joseph Fleck Jr.; brothers Howard (Delores) Theune, Gerald (Delores) Theune and Donnie (Elsie) Theune; sister Norma (Bill) Vetsch and a brother-in-law Herbert Hofteizer.
A Funeral Service for Lucille will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3027 Wilgus Ave. in Sheboygan. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, at church, from 10 AM until the time of service. Entombment will take place at The Garden of Peace Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lucille's name.
The family would like to personally thank the entire staff and volunteers at Rocky Knoll Healthcare for your care given to mom. It will forever be remembered and appreciated.


The birds in the sky, the grass in the fields and the rain- may the sun shine on your face. Make you smile. May God hold you in the palm of his hand til we meet again.
