Marie O. Kuznacic

Marie Kuznacic was called home to her Lord on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born Marie Olga Pakiz to Vladimir and Olga Pakiz in Willard, WI on March 25, 1931. She married George Kuznacic on June 10, 1950, and the couple moved to Sheboygan a few years later.

Marie was kind, generous, energetic and much loved. She and George grew up on farms in central Wisconsin. During their lifetimes they created a self-contained organic garden on their small acreage in the Town of Sheboygan. Marie spent much of her “free” time tending to the garden and her pets, the chickens. She enjoyed harvesting, preserving and feeding family and friends with her home-grown produce.

For several years Marie was an employee of the Sheboygan Public School District. She and George were active in the Sheboygan County Historical Society and were very much involved in the Happy Hearts program at their church, Fountain Park Global Methodist Church. She is doubtlessly remembered for her tireless devotion to those organizations. In the house, she loved to sew, bake, preserve food, read and do crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Judith (Kenneth) Beckley, Sandra (Michael) Krainz and Carol Kuznacic; son-in-law, Keith Strysick; grandchildren, Leslie (Jeff), Tammy (Ron), Christopher (Susan), Eric (Kaelyn), Jessica (Valmon), Angela (Al) and Justin; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Strysick; a son-in-law, Herman Nibbelink; brothers, Gilbert and Frank Pakiz; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

A Memorial Service for Marie will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St. in Sheboygan, with Pastor Warren Waddell officiating. Family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marie’s name.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Edenbrook Sheboygan (Sunny Ridge) nursing home for the excellent care given to Marie.

We will miss Marie, her goodness and her talents. She lived a long, productive life, and now may she rest in eternal peace.
