Marjorie Gutschenritter,

October 8, 1923 — March 10, 2013

Marjorie M. Gutschenritter, age 89, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday March 10, 2013 at Sunnyridge Healthcare Center where she had been a resident. She was born October 8, 1923 at Menominee, MI. a daughter of Louis J. and Victoria (Brodzinski) Demeuse. Marjorie graduated from Menominee High School in 1942. After graduation she immediately moved to Milwaukee, and was employed at the Cutler Hammer Company, assembling aircraft armatures for the war effort. She met her future husband, Erwin, upon his return from Brazil, after serving in the Army Air Corps. The couple was united in marriage on June 21, 1947. Erwin preceded her in death on September 9, 1959. Marjorie financed and was associated with her brother Joseph, in business in Sheboygan, the Nu-way Curtain Laundry. After marriage, Marjorie retired from the business to become a full time mother and home maker. Later, Marjorie began a 21 year career at the Kohler Engine Davison, working there from 1968 until 1989. Active in her Union membership, Marjorie was a member of the UAW 833, where she had been part of the community action program, and served on the executive council. She was also involved with the Top Hats and Girl Scouts. A devout Catholic, Marjorie was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society of the parish. Widowed at an early age, Marjorie played the role of both mother and father for her three children. She purchased a pop up camper, and the family toured most of the western states. She always took an active role in her children's life hosting many sleep overs and special events. She had many passions in life. Surviving Marjorie are her two daughters; Victoria L. Russell of Sheboygan and Wendi E. (A.Dean) Hess Green Bay, three grandsons, Daniel and Thomas Gutschenritter of Great Falls, MT., and William W. Mead III of Watertown, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her son, Major Anthony Gutschenritter, U.S.A.F., one brother Joseph and a sister, Gretchen. A Christian graveside service will be held for Marjorie on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM, at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan. Reverend Daniel Lasecki will officiate.
