Marvin Siegert

Marvin W. Siegert, age 83, of the Town of Herman, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014. He was born June 25, 1930 in Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late Walter and Laura (Thomas) Siegert. Marvin attended Green Bay Road School and graduated from Howards Grove High School in May of 1948. On July 1, 1950, LaVerne Riehn and Marvin Siegert were united in marriage. Marvin and LaVerne farmed in the town of Herman on the "Roulette Farms, Ltd." Over the years, he was very active in the farming community, participating in various farm organizations. Marvin was awarded "Outstanding Young Farmer in 1965. Marvin was the first president of the Herman Cheerio 4 H Club, as well as the County, State and National Holstein Association. Marvin and LaVerne hosted June Dairy Day on the Farm in 1983, with over 2000 people attending. He was an honorary member of the Howards Grove Athletic Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove. Surviving Marvin is his wife, LaVerne, of 63 years, his son Tom (Claudia) Siegert and his daughter Connie (Allen) Dirks, both of Howards Grove, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Roger Siegert of Plymouth and his sister, Kathleen (Gene) Kaestner of rural Cleveland. A Funeral Service will be held for Marvin on Friday May 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, (w2132 Garton Road) with the Reverend Darrel Bergelin officiating. Friends may call at Westview on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Marvin W. Siegert.
