Mary Jaeger

January 21, 1934 — April 30, 2014

Mary Alice Jaeger, age 80 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 after a four year battle with cancer. The former Mary Alice Heuer was born on January 21, 1934 in the Town of Herman to the late Arthur and Erna (Strassburg) Heuer. She was born again of water and the Spirit through her baptism and confirmation. On July 11, 1971 she married Lloyd Jaeger and his three children; Maureen, Doreen, and Laureen, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Howards Grove. The family lived on the Heuer homestead all their married life where Mary was a devoted and loving wife and step-mom. Mary was a life time member of St. Paul's. After confirmation she taught Sunday School. She attended Millersville Grade School and Central High School. She lived in Milwaukee for several years, where she became a beautician and later worked at the Boston Store in the collections department. She was an active member of St. Paul's Altar Guild for many years. She also volunteered at Bethesda Thrift Store and served on the Service Committee at the Sheboygan County Historical Museum. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Jaeger, her three step-children, Maureen (Joseph) Robinson of Grayslake, IL, Doreen (Dale) Shultz of Waterloo, WI, and Laureen (Kenneth) Lehman of La Crosse, WI; eight grandchildren, Jacob (fiancé Jamie Hildinger) Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Daniel (Laura) Schultz, Dana Schultz, Dylan (friend Tasha) Schultz, Steven (Katie) Lehman, Nicole Lehman, and Andrew (Bethany) Lehman; also special great-grandson Blake Schultz. She is further survived by her sister Lynn (Allen) Kraemer of Howards Grove, her brother-in-laws Dr. Willard Hansman of Fond du Lac, Richard Kuether of Howards Grove, Elroy (Carol) Jaeger and Jerome (Mona) Jaeger of Cleveland, Vernon (Joan) Jaeger of Manitowoc; sister-in-laws Joyce (David) Hornes of Phoenix, AZ, Marilyn (Robert) Mrotek, Marge Weiand, and Doris (Jerry) Schnelle all of Cleveland. She is further survived by her many caring nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents Arthur and Erna Heuer, an infant brother, an infant sister Barbara, her sisters; Benita Bitter, Elaine Kuether, and Mirtha Hansman; brother-in-laws Harold Bitter and Warren Weiand; her father and mother-in-law Roland and Edna (Kapellan) Jaeger and her loving grandson Derek Schultz. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Ave., Howards Grove. The Reverend Tom Unke, pastor of St. Paul's, and the Reverend Mark Bitter, Mary's nephew, of Mount Olive Lutheran in Tulsa, OK, will officiate. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Paul's Church Cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Visitation will be at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, (Hwy 42 & JJ), Howards Grove, on Friday, May 2 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and continued on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established. Mary's family would like to thank Dr. Steven Bettag, the nurses and staff at the Matthews Oncology Center, and the nurses and staff at the St. Nicholas Hospital Home Hospice Center for their loving care.
