MaryAnn “Annie” (Leonhard) Thompson was called home to the Lord on December 19, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Annie was born on March 10, 1940, to Henry T. and Dorothy (Wagner) Leonhard at home in St. Wendel (Cleveland), Wisconsin. She attended St. Wendel Catholic School and graduated from Central High School in 1959. She was employed at Mayline, Thonet, and Ebenreiter.
On September 4, 1982, she married Jesse Thompson at Holy Name Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Thompson; her parents, Henry T. and Dorothy Leonhard; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Verla Leonhard, and Gerald and Marie Leonhard; her stepson, Brett Thompson; and her nephew, Jimmy Leonhard.
Annie is survived by her sisters, Bernice (Louis) Erlicher and Julianna (James) Schwinn; her stepchildren, Jessica (David) Udovich, Ericka Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, Chad Thompson, Burke Thompson, Veronica (Mark) Randall, and Yolanda (Alan) Staats; and her step-grandchildren.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews who were very dear to her, as well as her friends, Mary Perl and her family, and Judy Mueller.
A Funeral Mass for Annie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081. Father Dennis Beltré will officiate. Visitation will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Wendel Catholic Church.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the medical and nursing staff at Aurora Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan and Aurora Grafton Hospital for their care and compassion during this time.
Per Annie: “You know I like to read, do Sudoku, and bake cookies, and if you can’t think of anything nice to say—lie for the paper.”
