Matthew R. Rewald

March 6, 1989 — February 20, 2024

Sheboygan

Matthew Ronald Rewald was born on March 6, 1989, in Los Angeles, California and passed away on February 20, 2024 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.   He grew up in California and Wisconsin, where he attended Kewaskum High School and graduated from Lakeland University with a degree in Hotel Management.  For the past decade he worked in the hospitality industry and in his spare time he enjoyed cooking, hiking with his dog and watching movies. He was always willing to attempt a creative recipe and share which movies or TVs shows he thought you should watch. But, truly he got the most joy out of being at home with his dearly loved dog and cat, Dodger and Kitt.

Those Matthew leaves behind to cherish his memory include his mother and stepfather, Pam Rewald and Rinku Dhawan, his sisters Jessica Waldrop (Rewald) and Melissa Luis, his brother-in-law, Stanley Waldrop, his niece and god-daughter, Josephina Waldrop,  his maternal grandmother, Nancy Rewald, his step grandmother Rashmi Dhawan, his aunts and uncles, Jim and Renee Rewald, Jeff Rewald, Buffy and Sam Vasquez,  Debbie Olsen, his cousins, Amanda, Taylor, Kaite, Lauren, Julian, Christopher and Marie, along with several step-family members and in-laws.  He will be deeply missed by all the friends that he made as he lived and traveled across the United States.  Private masses, said in honor of Matthew, will be held in Wisconsin, California, and Georgia. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Rewald, his stepfather, Britt Lobitz and his biological father, David Luis.

His memory will live on through the joy he found in his animals, who are now living with his family in Roswell, Georgia.  Because Matthew cared so deeply for them, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation your local Humane Society.
