Michael D. Kramer, 72, of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at home. Born on June 9, 1953 to the late Jack and Diane (Durand) Kramer. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the Class of 1971.
In his early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike loved rock music – he was a member of the rock band Sweet Leaf. He enjoyed going to concerts. Mike traveled to England to see the Rolling Stones. Mike had a long association with Dave Steffen and the Dave Steffen Band and other local Sheboygan bands.
Mike led an adventurous life. From factory work; to being on the road in a rock band; a short European adventure; solo motorcycle trip out west; a couple years working carnivals and fairs; helping operate a Wisconsin cheese food truck; and on and on it goes. Restless feet.
He made a lasting impression on those he met along the way, no matter how brief the encounters. Mike was a good friend, helping, and always happy. His home on 11th street, was at times, “the home for wayward boys.”
Mike is survived by his two brothers, Kevin Kramer and Mark Kramer; one sister Karen Retzloff; nieces and nephews, CJ (Allison) Retzloff, Jason Retzloff, Amber Retzloff, Crystal Jackson, Matthew Kramer and Kayla (Scott) Erickson; and four great-nieces/nephews, Lacy, Austin, Calvin and Sasha.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will take place at a later date.
He will be missed by many. And if there’s a rock and roll heaven, you’re there with Jimi and the rest. Peace Mike.
