Patricia “Patsy” Dorn, 81 passed away unexpectedly at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Patsy was born just past midnight on March 25,1943 several minutes after her twin brother Patrick, to the late Bernadine (Walsdorf) Dorn and her husband the late Peter Dorn, Sr. They knew this because the church bells chimed between the births.
Patsy grew up on the family dairy farm. She attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and graduated from Kiel High school. She later moved to Sheboygan and worked for several years at St. Nicholas Hospital. She was a member of St. Dominick Catholic Church. and Holy Family Catholic Church.
Patsy lived for several years and had many friends at the Wasserman on Water Street in Sheboygan. After a severe illness she moved to Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Sheboygan. She spent her last years at Sunny Ridge enjoying playing Bingo, winning tokens for Mountain Dew, eating pizza, painting pictures and telling jokes. At a recent visit with her brother Pat, she asks “What do they call a cow after it gives birth?” Pat didn’t know the answer, Patsy told him, “Decaffeinated”. A good laugh was had by all.
Patsy was survived by her twin brother, Patrick (Fran) Dorn; sisters, Sr. Lucy M. Dorn, Sr. Marie Bernadette Dorn; sister-in-law Joan Dorn and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her brothers Peter (Betty) Dorn and James Dorn; sisters Jane (Peter) Salm, Bernadette (Wayne) Engelman and infant sister Janet; nephew Michael; and nieces Peggy (Dan) Buss and Paula Engelman.
